Perth III: the third conference on mountains, entitled Mountains of the Future Earth, October 2015. It was my first Perth-conference, and I felt delighted being submerged in this vivid world of mountain science and sociology.

The combination of Scottish autumn with the summer of mountain research made for an amazing stay, and I especially loved the big science on movement of plant species under climate change. Well-designed observation experiments in history finally pay off and result in clear patterns.
I chaired the session on invasion in mountains, as representative of MIREN and as such learned a lot about the current knowledge on this major threat. A summary on the small but interesting session on mountain invaders can be found here.
